Susan Lachs has been in the healthcare field for over 30 years and specializes in helping children, adults, and families find mental and physical well-being.
Susan began her nursing career caring for critically ill patients and their families in neonatal, pediatric, cardiovascular surgery at NYU Langone. After obtaining a Master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania as a nurse practitioner, Susan has cared for patients and families in primary care, hospice, student medicine, and cardiology. Susan also taught primary care to graduate and undergraduate nursing students at Yale University and Fairfield University.
Susan has a concierge practice by limiting the number of patients she will accept so that she can be more available to each client. She believes deeply in the connection between physical and mental health and pursued a psychiatric nurse practitioner degree from Johns Hopkins University allowing her to pursue her passion in providing comprehensive and integrative mental health care. She understands all aspects of health and well-being. She works to understand patients from a psychological, psychoanalytic, and physiologic perspective, integrating all aspects of each individual's experience into assisting in their journey to greater mental and physical health.
Susan can provide psychotherapy and medication when indicated.
Susan has also been accepted for the psychoanalytic psychotherapy program at NYU commencing September 2021.
